The holidays are upon us, and if these weeks are not hectic enough, I am also in nesting mode! I will be induced on Jan. 7th, if little man does not make his arrival sooner. Despite everything going on, I am so incredibly happy. I can't seem to keep the smile off of my face. Christmas is such a happy time, and I am being given the greatest gift of all.
It is amazing to me how God just seems to give us what we need. This baby was a total shock and a major curveball in our plans. But, now that he is almost here, it is like he was always supposed to be. God knew we weren't done, and I guess he gets the last laugh.
About Me
- Emily
- My name is Emily. I am 33 years old and a very happy individual. My husband and best friend of the past 13 years is Keith. Together we have two perfect children (non-biased of course), Sarah 9, and Ethan 5. My greatest pleasure on Earth is spending all of my time with these three people (no joke). The newest member of our family is of the four-legged variety, our pup Belle! Things at my house are never dull.

You know you are pregnant when....
You know you are pregnant when you can go without a bra. Your boobs can rest on your tummy!
You know you are pregnant when you pee on yourself.....constantly!
You know you are pregnant when you plan your day around what you are going to eat, and you want to hear about what everyone else is eating!
You know you are pregnant when you have to ask complete strangers to tie your child's shoes because you can't bend over to do it.
You know you are pregnant when you feel guilty for having a coke.
You know you are pregnant when your little one's butt is in your rib cage and breathing is no longer an option.
You know you are pregnant when you know where the restrooms are in any restaurant, shopping mall, theater and hospital within a 50 mile radius.

Kindergarten Mommy Blues

Last week, my little boy started Kindergarten. I still don't know how we got here so fast. It was a blur, but the good new is that he loves it. He told me that Kindergarten rocks! I am so happy that he loves school, and he has made some best friends already. I still think of him as my baby and he always will be, but it didn't make walking him to his classroom that morning any easier.

Happy Birthday Sarah Jane!

My first born will be 9 years old on Friday, August 6. I am so proud of who she is, and I can't wait to see who she will become. My Sarah is a very kind and sensitive person. She makes friends easily and is very loyal. She wants to be a vet when she grows up. She has loved animals for as long as I can remember. I think she will be great at whatever she does. She is unbelievably smart, possibly even brilliant. Sometimes she is too smart for her own good. She has a beautiful singing voice and loves to show it off. She is a cautious child, really having to think things through before she tries anything. Most of all, she is loved, by everyone that meets her. She is such a gift from God, and I can't imagine our family without her. Happy Birthday Sarah. Mommy loves you so much!

My little crack-ups

My kids are sooooo funny! They just keep me in stitches, half the time. I was watching TV last night, while laying on the couch, which is what I do every night, incidentally and the kids were playing in the kitchen. Apparently they had heard something of the opera "The Barber of Seville." I don't know much about opera, but I recognized what they were singing, or trying to rather. As loud as their little voices could go, they were singing "The Barber of the Bill". This was adorable of course, and I did not correct them, it would have totally ruined it!

When you need it most...
Why is it that God seems to always give us what we need, whether we know it or not? I was sitting at my desk, kind of down, and praying that God would make everything ok. 2 minutes later I got an email from my Father in law. It was a prayer chain letter email, and it just seemed to make me feel better. God wants to be there for us. We just need to let him!

Big news at the Marcum house!
Ok, it has been 8 months since my last post..Sorry about that. I have been super busy. Between work, my husband, my children, my volunteer obligations, little league, church and making a new life...I can't possible fit anything else into my schedule.
I didn't sneak that one by, did I? Yes, we are pregnant, about 8 weeks along with our next family member. This baby was not planned, but apparantly God had other ideas. Our newest arrival will be here in January, and right now he/she is making Mommy's life a little difficult. Morning sickness with two kids and a full time job is not fun. The kids have nick-named the baby Tad, as in tad-pole. I think it's really cute, but Keith does not. It works until we can find out the gender.
